Car Accidents Involving Injury In North Philadelphia

With Philadelphia’s narrow lanes and overcrowded intersections, it can take a very small mistake by a distracted driver to cause a crash that puts motorists across six lanes of traffic in danger. The risks are especially high at night with reduced visibility for all drivers.

In 2019, Pennsylvania Law Enforcement and emergency crews responded to over 2,700 auto accidents that occurred in the midnight hour. Those responders see the dangers drivers at night can face. In accidents that occurred in the hours between midnight and 3 a.m. across 2019, almost 100 victims lost their lives.

A frightening collision on Philadelphia streets can lead to consequences that last for months and even years of a victim’s life. Those tragic accidents can leave victims with severe and life-changing injuries and have them wondering how to find help with every cost of recovery.

Support for North Philadelphia Car Crash Victims

A crash can change the course of victims’ lives in an instant. A long stay in the hospital can be followed by months of physical therapy and even surgeries down the road.

After all of this physical and emotional trauma, an at-fault driver’s insurance company may offer those hurt just the bare minimum in compensation. The offer may cover emergency room fees and a few days of a hospital stay, but that won’t help the victims a few months down the road when they are forced to miss more time at work all over a recurring injury that won’t seem to heal.

A driver’s mistake caused this injury and their insurance company shouldn’t be allowed to turn their backs on you after a quick lowball settlement offer. You can file a claim for damages to make sure insurance agents know exactly what you’ve been through and what’s fair in compensation. An attorney working on your case can help you list and document your hardships in a civil lawsuit and even suggest a few things you’ve been through that you may not have realized can earn you compensation.

You’ve given everything you have to heal and try to get back on your feet again and an insurance company should be expected to support you every step of the way.

Liability in Scooter Accidents In Pottstown PA

Someone on a scooter deserves the same caution from drivers as any pedestrian or cyclist, but many times drivers don’t show the proper care to anyone using sidewalks, roads, and crosswalks. Careless drivers can often fail to take a proper look to see a vehicle in the next lane over, let alone take time to spot someone with a smaller profile on a scooter.

This lack of care on the part of a distracted driver can be devastating when a collision sends a defenseless scooter rider to the ground. The strike from a vehicle and then an impact with the ground can cause severe injury and leave victims in the hospital for weeks and months at a time.

Support for Scooter Accident Victims in Pennsylvania

Scooter accidents can leave victims hospitalized and facing weeks of recovery and physical therapy. The physical and emotional toll on a victim can be incredibly difficult. The financial toll shouldn’t have to be a worry for the victim but as hospital bills start to appear, the injured can’t help but start to have anxiety about their economic wellbeing after an accident.

Victims may have to miss a significant time at work as well, leaving them struggling to pay the cost of living expenses like car payments and rent. All of this stress over an accident that wasn’t their fault.

Because of the vulnerable nature of a person on foot or on a scooter, drivers are required to show them care no matter where they encounter a rider. When due caution isn’t observed a driver and his or her insurance policy can be held accountable for every hardship a patient endures. A claim for damages filed by the victim can make sure every expense of recovery is reimbursed and that medical care needed in the future is covered.

Finding Support After Philadelphia Accidents

Victims of accidents that weren’t their fault can find themselves facing severe injuries that require weeks and months of hospital care and rehabilitation. The extreme consequences and costs that are possible make it all the more important to know your rights in a collision.

Injuries can include broken and dislocated bones that can take months to heal with pain that follows you over a lifetime. Head and brain injuries can leave you unable to communicate and affect your memory in the short and long term. Cherry Hill Accidents Along Cuthbert Boulevard

A four-lane road in a busy section of town can be an extremely dangerous place for motorists. Drivers from both directions can be traveling very close to each other, especially when there’s not a proper median in place or space along the sides of the road to use to steer clear of a hazard.

The consequences of a collision can be that much more severe when victims become trapped in their vehicles. A worldwide study that looked at 244 patients that had to be rescued from their cars after impacts showed that a tragic 19% of patients lost their lives. 51% of those patients suffered from major trauma.

A distracted driver can not notice that they’ve veered off course then lose control of their vehicle and cause a crash that can leave victims in every lane badly hurt.

Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Accidents in Fairhill

Philadelphia is a city of narrow streets and a constant flow of traffic. Pedestrians know how hard it can be to find a safe place to cross when crosswalks aren’t designed properly and distracted drivers show little caution when the possibility of someone on foot being nearby should always be on their minds.

Inattentive drivers pose a dangerous threat to walkers every day, but the heartbreak of a collision is only magnified when the drivers to blame decide to speed off and avoid taking responsibility for their actions.

FOX29-TV found that fatal hit-and-run cases have been on the rise in the past year across Philadelphia. In 2019, the city reported nine fatal hit-and-runs, but in 2020 the number of tragic deaths caused by hit-and-run drivers jumped to 28 cases.

Philadelphia Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Accident in Fairhill

A pedestrian was struck in the Fairhill section of Philadelphia late Sunday night. FOX29-TV reported the accident happened on Leigh Avenue just before midnight on January 3, 2020.

Philadelphia police say a 36-year-old man was crossing the avenue near American street when he was struck by a driver in the middle of the four-lane roadway. The victim was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.

Investigators say the driver sped away without stopping. Police officers pursued the alleged vehicle involved for a short time down 5th street before the suspect got away. Investigators believe the responsible driver was in a red Dodge Dakota truck. It was a model between 2005-2011 and had a quad cab.

If you have any information about the driver or the vehicle involved you’re asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department.

Support for Fairhill Pedestrian Hit-And-Run Victims

A careless act by a driver can leave a victim in the hospital coping with a severe injury and also place the family of the victim under extreme stress. They will be worried about an injured loved one and can also be questioning how justice can ever be served when at-fault motorists choose not to stick around after their mistake.

Victims and their families shouldn’t have to wait for justice or wait for assistance paying for the expensive costs of medical treatment resulting from a collision. However, if a hit-and-run suspect is never found a victim may have to depend on his or her own car insurance policy for help with medical expenses and other bills. A claim can be made on the victim’s personal uninsured motorist coverage. If victims don’t have a policy, they might be covered on a family member’s policy.

If there is positive news and a suspect is apprehended, a civil claim for damages can move forward immediately against the driver and his or her insurance company. The driver will likely be facing a criminal trial on hit-and-run charges, but a civil trial can advance regardless of the status of the criminal proceedings.
