Philadelphia traffic can present dangerous situations for safe drivers no matter what time they travel. Careless drivers are cruising the city constantly, even after rush hour has died down. At any moment reckless drivers can squeeze other motorists out of a lane, veer into the path of oncoming traffic or miss a red light. All potentially devastating mistakes when you’re the driver on the road next to them.
Philadelphia emergency officials respond to the scenes of these terrible accidents every day. In 2019, PennDot recorded 11,120 collisions across Philadelphia. 7, 410 of those accidents involved injury. Tragically those accidents also claimed the lives of 91 people.
A collision between two cars left several people injured in Philadelphia Wednesday morning. CBS3-TV had their news helicopter over the scene of the accident and reported it happened on Kelly Drive near the East Falls Bridge on December 30, 2020.
Reports indicated a white car was in a collision with another vehicle and then struck a tree around 10 a.m. In video taken by CBS3 photographers, firefighters are seen using “jaws of life” equipment to free victims from the white vehicle. The crash left the car’s engine and wheels scattered on the roadway.
At least three people suffered injuries in the crash. Their conditions have not been released. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
A devastating accident can take so much from victims. Severe injuries can rob victims of their mobility, their freedom, and even claim their memories when serious brain injures are involved.
With the help of the best medical care, victims can recover and get back on their feet, and when they do they shouldn’t have to face a mountain of hospital bills and monthly expenses coming due. These worries should belong to the driver who caused the accident and his or her insurance representatives.
After a painful injury, you may be waiting on an insurance company to provide compensation for all of the expenses of recovery and even the wages you’ve lost while having to miss work. You may have to keep waiting though. Insurance companies can stall your benefits, cast blame for a crash on you, and even try to use your own statements against you to weaken your case. The goal is to get you desperate enough to accept a lowball offer for every bit of physical and emotional pain you’ve suffered.
To guard against these types of tricks, victims can file a civil lawsuit to make sure insurance adjusters know every cost and hardship they’ll be expected to cover. An attorney working on your behalf can make sure everything you’ve suffered is documented in a claim for damages. Your attorney can also handle all communication with insurance agents to make sure they can’t twist your words.
To make sure you or a loved one don’t end up missing out on fair compensation for the financial and physical pain suffered after a crash, talk to a Philadelphia car accident attorney with experience protecting the rights of victims.
