On March 6, 2018, a mother was walking with her daughter and sibling in Mayfair when a terrible accident occurred. According to 6ABC, a driver lost control of the car they were operating, jumped a curb near Tyson Ave and Rowland Ave and hit the mother and daughter. The car came to a rest on top of the little girl. Instead of helping, the driver then ran away, leaving the child trapped under the car. Civilians helped free the child who was sent to Jefferson Hospital which has a Level II Trauma Center. The child is now in critical condition. When police arrived, they found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. This is an absolutely terrible crash which should never have occurred.
