The biggest danger we can face on Philadelphia streets is usually the carelessness of another driver. They can be going too fast, or glance at a phone and suddenly be veering into the path of another vehicle.

Philadelphia traffic can be especially dangerous for even the most cautious drivers. In 2019, by PennDOT figures the city had 7,410 crashes involving injuries. That number accounted for 13% of all the crashes with injuries across Pennsylvania for the year.

Two-Vehicle Accident in Oxford Circle Sends Several Victims to Hospital

A collision between two vehicles near our Northeast Philadelphia office caused multiple injuries early Wednesday morning. NBC10-TV reported the crash happened in the Oxford Circle neighborhood in the area of Algon and Magee Avenues on October 28, 2020.

The crash involved a black SUV and a gray BMW sedan. The collision caused the BMW to flip and spin around after it struck several parked cars along the avenue. Witnesses say several people involved in the initial collision were taken to the hospital.

Philadelphia Police are still investigating the accident and have not said what lead to the crash.

Support for Philadelphia Car Accident Victims

An error in judgment by one driver can quickly affect every other driver and vehicle on the road. Accident victims may be facing a long recovery and expensive medical bills and wonder how to get help in the aftermath of a collision.

Victims are allowed to file a claim for damages against the at-fault driver to try to get help with expenses like hospital bills, rehabilitation costs, and even lost paychecks when people with injuries must miss work. This civil lawsuit will be directed at the responsible driver and his or her insurance company.

Passengers in these cars with serious injuries can also file a claim against the at-fault driver’s insurance company. Passengers can even file to get compensation from the driver of the car they were in if that driver made the mistake that led to a crash.

Victims may have conflicting feelings about filing a claim against someone they know, but a lawsuit will generally target the driver’s insurance and not the driver. Drivers carry insurance coverage to help victims who have been hurt in accidents and need assistance with the costs of healing and getting back to a normal life.
