Philadelphia traffic can prove dangerous at any time of the day or night. Careless drivers can take their eyes from the road for even a second and suddenly become an unavoidable obstacle for a safe driver.

The frightening dangers are seen every year in Philadelphia where certain streets are some of the most hazardous for motorists and pedestrians in the entire state. Roosevelt Boulevard and Bustleton Avenue are well known around the city as the most congested and hazardous routes for any driver. PennDOT found that in 2019 there were 11,120 crashes in Philadelphia. In those collisions 86 people tragically lost their lives.

Two People Dead after Two Cars Collide in Summerdale

A tragic accident in Philadelphia’s Summerdale section left two people dead early Sunday morning. WPVI-TV reported the crash happened around 2 a.m. on Roosevelt Boulevard just north of Bridge Street on December 13, 2020.

Police say two cars were involved in an impact and then went on to hit trees and a utility pole along the northbound outer drive of Roosevelt Boulevard.

The two drivers, a 35-year-old woman and a 24-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators haven’t released their findings on what led to the crash.

Support for Families after an Accident in Philadelphia

A careless action on the road can have devastating consequences for victims and they can also suddenly leave families to carry on with life without a loved one.

In these heartbreaking cases, a family should not be left alone to face the many costs that can arise after a tragedy. Ambulance fees and funeral costs should be the responsibility of the at-fault driver and his or her insurance coverage. They should never fall to the family still trying to grieve the loss of someone close.

A family can help ensure they get the financial support they need by filing a wrongful death claim against the insurance that covers the driver responsible. This civil lawsuit can help pay for bills that arrive after an accident and protects the family from future hardships. These can include the paychecks the deceased will no longer provide the family through his or her job. The emotional support the family would have enjoyed from a lost loved one over their lifetimes can never be replaced but can be accounted for in a compensation settlement.
