The recovery from a major accident can force incredible hardships on the victims and the families left behind. A serious car collision can tragically change the course of lives for victims and their loved ones.

These consequences are often the fault of distracted or reckless drivers. The tragic decision to take their eyes off the road or to fail to look properly before making a maneuver can end up putting lives in danger in every car involved.

Philadelphia Two-Car Accident Tragically Claims One Life

A two-car collision in Philadelphia’s Juniata Park section took a woman’s life on Friday afternoon. WPVI-TV reported the accident happened around 12:05 p.m. on Erie Avenue on November 27, 2020.

Police say a 25-year-old woman traveling westbound collided with a 55-year-old woman in a car attempting to make a left turn. The 25-year-old woman was killed in the accident. The 55-year-old driver was also injured and taken to Temple University Hospital. Her condition hasn’t been released.

Investigators haven’t released the results of their investigation into the cause of the crash.

Support for Victims in Philadelphia Collisions

A devastating car collision can leave victims to recover from serious injury and also leave families to mourn the loss of a loved one. The aftermath of an accident can target the victims and their families with overwhelming hospital bills, funeral costs, and other expenses at a vulnerable time when just meeting monthly mortgage and car payments may be a struggle.

For families who lose a beloved member to an accident, the aftermath can mean facing enormous costs just as the support through a job the victim provided the family is suddenly gone. In these heartbreaking cases, a family is allowed to file a wrongful death claim against the insurance company of the at-fault driver.

The hope is that enough compensation can be earned to pay for funeral and ambulance fees and provide for the future of the family who will now be without the financial and emotional support of the deceased in the years to come. A close relative or an attorney working for the family can file this civil lawsuit on behalf of the rest of the family.

For surviving victims, a claim for damages against the insurance policy of the at-fault driver may be the only way to make sure the insurance company doesn’t try to ignore a victim’s physical, financial, and emotional suffering. The injury could last years or decades and the insurance company should provide enough compensation to cover every step of recovery.
