Someone on a scooter deserves the same caution from drivers as any pedestrian or cyclist, but many times drivers don’t show the proper care to anyone using sidewalks, roads, and crosswalks. Careless drivers can often fail to take a proper look to see a vehicle in the next lane over, let alone take time to spot someone with a smaller profile on a scooter.
This lack of care on the part of a distracted driver can be devastating when a collision sends a defenseless scooter rider to the ground. The strike from a vehicle and then an impact with the ground can cause severe injury and leave victims in the hospital for weeks and months at a time.

Support for Scooter Accident Victims in Pennsylvania
Scooter accidents can leave victims hospitalized and facing weeks of recovery and physical therapy. The physical and emotional toll on a victim can be incredibly difficult. The financial toll shouldn’t have to be a worry for the victim but as hospital bills start to appear, the injured can’t help but start to have anxiety about their economic wellbeing after an accident.
Victims may have to miss a significant time at work as well, leaving them struggling to pay the cost of living expenses like car payments and rent. All of this stress over an accident that wasn’t their fault.
Because of the vulnerable nature of a person on foot or on a scooter, drivers are required to show them care no matter where they encounter a rider. When due caution isn’t observed a driver and his or her insurance policy can be held accountable for every hardship a patient endures. A claim for damages filed by the victim can make sure every expense of recovery is reimbursed and that medical care needed in the future is covered.
