A head-on collision can do a lot of damage and cause significant injuries. Anyone involved in one knows how much impact a serious accident can have on your life. This can be compounded when more potential victims are involved.

Any time there are more than one or two victims, those responding have a tougher job tending to the victims and determining who needs help the most. Unfortunately, for anyone who is injured, this creates additional risks that their treatment will be delayed, and the injury will be made worse.

Three Dead, One Injured in Head-On Collision

A minivan and a car hit head-on in Lancaster County killing three people and injuring another. According to Police, the accident happened when a car crossed over the median and hit the minivan head-on around noon on Saturday, March 7, 2020. The driver and a passenger in the minivan died at the scene, and the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A minor child who was also riding in the minivan sustained minor injures and was released from the hospital. Police are still investigating the incident.

Head-On Collision Injuries

A head-on collision is one of the most deadly accidents according to a report from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. Head-on collisions can cause significant injuries to those involved, primarily because of the nature of a head-on collision.

Both cars in a head-on collision experience the momentum and mass of both vehicles colliding at the same moment with the speed of all objects stopping instantly. Because of this, those inside the vehicles suffer the brunt of the force of both vehicles.

This can produce certain types of common and serious injuries, which are:

  • Blunt Force Trauma
  • Head Injuries
  • Traumatic Brain Injuries
  • Chest Compressions
  • Broken Bones
  • Compound Fractures
  • Spine Injuries
  • Deep Lacerations
  • Blood Loss/Shock

If you were involved in a head-on collision, you need to speak to an attorney who knows what you are going through. Don’t take the word of the insurance company that they will take care of you because they won’t. Speak to someone who can be on your side making sure you get treated fairly.
