When more than a couple of people are injured in an accident, it puts a strain on the emergency response system and can overwhelm first responders. This can impact how fast victims get treated at the scene and how quickly they can be transported to a hospital.
Two Killed, Eight Injured in Two-Vehicle Accident in SW Philly
Police say that an SUV flipped over and landed on top of a Hyundai in a crash that happened Monday, June 1, 2020, around 2:30 pm. Seven people were ejected from the SUV, and both adults, the driver and a passenger, were killed.
Five minors, from ages 8 to 14, were among the injured and were immediately transported to the hospital. Fortunately, it appears that four of the five children’s injuries were minor with only one sustaining major injuries. It unclear why the SUV flipped or what caused the accident to occur.
Multi-Victim Crashes and Injuries
When several people are injured at once in an accident, there is a greater chance that a victim’s injuries can be overlooked, or that time is spent on one victim and another victim also needs immediate attention.
These are things that happen in a motor vehicle crash that can affect the outcome of the victim’s injuries. At the Pearce Law Firm, Personal Injury and Accident Lawyers, P.C., we’ve seen all types of accidents and injuries and understand how the circumstances of an accident can impact the victims and their chance of a full recovery.
Multi-Victim Injury Accidents and Liability
One of the tough things to deal with in a multi-victim accident is the desire to see everyone fully compensated for their injuries. Unfortunately, all auto insurance policies have a limit on each person’s injuries and a limit on compensation paid for the entire accident.
Although it seems trivial right after a horrific accident such as the one mentioned above, sooner or later the focus will be on the amount of compensation available for each victim. At the Pearce Law Firm, Personal Injury and Accident Lawyers, P.C., we know how to work with other attorneys and insurance companies to make sure that each victim gets the compensation they deserve.
We are also experienced in finding any sources of compensation including in cases where the victims own auto insurance might be used to compensate the victim.
