Today we heard about a horrific pit bull attack which occurred in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. A toddler was attacked by multiple pit bulls and taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. By the time we were putting this article together, we learned that the child who was attacked died from his injuries.

According to KALB, the boy was only two years old. Police responding to 911 calls had to shoot 3 pit bulls.

We are deeply saddened to hear of this nightmare.

Bully Breeds Kill More Than Any Other Type of Dog.

Attorney Edith Peace, Philadelphia’s Child Injury Lawyer, is very aware of the dangers pit bulls pose. While there are many people who love the breed, and a pit bull just rescued a family from a house fire in New Jersey a couple of weeks ago, facts are facts. “Bully breeds” cause more devastating injuries than any other breed, and they kill far more children than any other type of dog. When they bite, they grab firmly and shake causing severe damage to anyone they bite. Additional statistics are available on our pit bull attack page.

It’s never the first thing on anyone’s mind, but contacting a compassionate attorney quickly is necessary. Unfortunately, insurers will often blame you or your child for “provoking” a dog into an attack and work against you. Insurers have clever lawyers and you deserve one, too.
