The fourth nor’easter is here and some people are calling it Winter Storm Toby. As of 3/20/2018 we are expecting we may set a new record for snowfall in March and we will find out tomorrow after the snow, ice and sleet is done being dumped on us.

If you are able to, stay off of the roads for the next few days. It is snowing as far south as North Carolina tonight. Currently, New Jersey is under State of Emergency and Philly is under Snow Emergency. If needed, Philly’s snow emergency routes may be found here.

Do nor’easters cause accidents?

Unfortunately, after any ice, slush or snow event there are always many accidents. However, the weather doesn’t cause accidents, people do. People who are driving too fast, or even doing the posted speed limit who shouldn’t be due to current road conditions.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, there were several fender benders and single car accidents as road conditions deterioration. As soon as the roads became slippery, the accidents began. One of the first accidents to make the news tonight was in Horsham, Pennsylvania. According to NBC Philadelphia, 3 vehicles were involved in a wreck at Easton Road and West Moreland Avenue. Tragically, 2 people were killed in this terrible crash. While it hasn’t yet been confirmed if the roads were icy there,  it is safe to say that at least one motorist’s negligence contributed to this crash.

After a crash on ice, snow or slush

After any accident involving a serious injury or a fatality, insurers will often immediately spring into action working against you to minimize your claim. In some cases, they may even attempt to blame you for your injuries or your loved one for their death. Don’t let them take advantage of you when you need a lawyer the most. With the help of an experienced personal injury lawyer, you will often receive significantly more compensation for your injuries than you would receive attempting to handle the litigation process on your own.

If your accident took place in eastern Pennsylvania or South Jersey contact us today for a free and confidential consultation. During that consultation we will go over all of your legal options with you.
