A wrong-way driver can provide a frightening and completely unexpected hazard for other motorists. These accidents can be especially dangerous because they often involve a vehicle heading into oncoming traffic and causing a head-on collision. Head-on accidents can create more force upon impact and can lead to more devastating consequences for any drivers and passengers involved.
Severe injuries and the loss of life can result when a wrong-way driver makes a costly error in judgment and puts every other motorist and pedestrian on the road in harm’s way.

Help for Victims in Wrong-Way Driver Accidents
A family trying to cope with the loss of a loved one to a tragic accident will want justice for the victim. Close family members will have lost the emotional and financial support of the deceased, not just in the present, but over the course of their lives. The at-fault driver and his or her insurance company should be responsible for the consequences of a terrible mistake.
The family can file a wrongful death claim to recover money to pay for ambulance fees, hospital bills, and funeral expenses. Compensation can also be provided to keep those left behind financially stable in the years to come. A close relative or an attorney can file a wrongful death claim on behalf of the rest of the family.
For surviving victims of wrong-way accidents, filing a claim for damages can make sure your entire medical recovery is paid for. That would include any care needed in the future. This civil lawsuit can also ensure you are reimbursed for the time you are away from work. An attorney can help victims demand compensation for other hardships suffered in the aftermath of an accident as well.
