April 26, 2017 – The Pearce Law Firm, P.C awarded today the 2016 Pearce Law Firm Empowering Women in Law Scholarship to Catrina Shea from Tom Rivers, New Jersey. Catrina is attending Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.
This scholarship is awarded annually to women who are currently attending a law school in the United States and have shown leadership and academic success. The award was created by Philadelphia personal injury lawyer and founder of The Pearce Law Firm, Edith Pearce to inspire talented females enrolled in law school to compete and excel in the law. In a ceremony held at The Pearce Law Firm in Philadelphia, Ms. Pearce commented that “Catrina showed a passion for helping others in her work with Special Olympics as a volunteer throughout high school and Director of Special Olympics at the University of Connecticut.“ Ms. Pearce noted that Catrina listed her mother as her inspiration watching her raise a family while being a nurse, including working many years at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Catrina has excelled academically while at law school, serving on the Villanova Law Review. In awarding the $2,000 scholarship, Ms. Pearce stated, “The Pearce Law Firm is proud to award the Pearce Law Firm Empowering Women in Law Scholarship to Catrina Shea.”
